A Note from the Founder
Founder joins select group of usa fencers.
Hello Fencers!
I’ve got some exciting news...
This year, I’ve been accepted into the 2025–2026 USA Fencing Leadership Academy. This is a year-long program that selects only about 24 fencers nationwide.
It’s an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to the fencing community. I am honored to be part of this year’s academy cohort.
A Little Background
Since 2010, I’ve been trying to make this sport a little more visible and a little less mysterious. From a broadcast TV show and web platform to coaching, competing, and generally talking about fencing any time someone asked what I do for fun. These experiences have shaped my approach to building Fencing.Community—a space for fencers, coaches, and parents to connect, learn, and thrive.
About the Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy is designed to educate and empower rising leaders, preparing participants to serve on committees, resource teams, and even the Board of Directors. Over the next 10 months, I’ll be attending 10 virtual sessions, engaging with fellow fencers, and bringing back insights to share with all of you.
Sharing the Journey
To keep everyone in the loop, I’ll be posting updates about the Leadership Academy modules on the left navigation of this post, sharing tips, takeaways, and resources that can help fencers, coaches, and parents alike.
This is less about me and more about what we can do together as a community—learning, growing, and making fencing more accessible and rewarding for everyone. I’m excited for the journey and can’t wait to bring back tools and insights that help all of us improve, connect, and enjoy the sport we love.
Thank you for being part of this community—I hope you’ll follow along and share your thoughts along the way!
