Why Now?
The opportunity and momentum that make today the moment for fencing’s new frontpage.
Why this story / why now?
Fencing is growing fast, but the tech hasn’t kept pace. Families juggle scattered systems, coaches struggle to scale events, and the next generation is connecting online without tools built for their sport. That’s the gap fencing.community is filling—bringing the fencing world together on one platform, at just the right time as team USA gets ready for the 2028 Olympic Games to inspire the next generation of fencers.
- Home Field Olympics: With heightened awareness every 4 years and Los Angeles hosting the '28 games, now is the time to convert interest into participation through accessible, tech-enabled pathways.
- Community Building: Digital platforms connect fencers across divisions and regions, creating opportunities beyond the strip.
- Visibility & Promotion: Social media and digital tools expand fencing’s reach to new audiences, but the go-to platforms are evolving faster than clubs can keep up.
- Changing Expectations: Athletes, parents, and clubs increasingly expect the same digital ease they get in other parts of life (registration, scheduling, communication).
- Scalability: Technology allows clubs and events to grow without adding proportional administrative burden.
