How to Claim Your Member Discount
The New Hanster Epee Open 4.0 is a Fencing.Community Sponsored Event. Active monthly recurring members receive exclusive discounts on registration!

Who Qualifies?
Monthly members only: You must have an active monthly recurring subscription to Fencing.Community to qualify for event discounts.
✅ DOES qualify:
- Active monthly recurring subscriptions (any amount $3-10/month)
❌ Does NOT qualify:
- Annual memberships
- One-time payments
- Invitation code access
Discount Tiers
Member discounts are tiered based on when you complete payment, with limited spots available per tier (10 per tier):
Super Early Bird: 60% OFF
April 1 - April 4, 2026- ✓ 10 spots available
- Registration + First Event: $50 → $20 (save $30)
- Additional events: $25 each (regular price)
- Total savings: $30 on first event
Urgency Message: "Register by April 4 for maximum savings!"
Early Bird: 40% OFF
April 5 - April 18, 2026- ✓ 10 spots available
- Registration + First Event: $50 → $30 (save $20)
- Additional events: $25 each (regular price)
- Total savings: $20 on first event
Regular Bird: 20% OFF
April 19 - May 2, 2026- ✓ 10 spots available
- Registration + First Event: $50 → $40 (save $10)
- Additional events: $25 each (regular price)

What's Included in "First Event"?
Member discount applies to: - Tournament registration fee ($25) - PLUS one individual event of your choice ($25) - Combined regular price: $50 Available individual events:- Senior Mixed Épée

Additional Events
Want to fence in more than one event? Additional events are charged at regular price ($25 each).
Example: Super Early Bird registering for 3 events- First Event + Registration: $20 (60% off)
- Additional Event #2: $25 (regular price)
- Additional Event #3: $25 (regular price)
- Total: $70 (save $30 vs $100 regular)
Team Events
Team events are NOT eligible for member discounts. Team registration is $25 per fencer at regular price.
Important Details
⚠️ Read carefully:
- Only ONE discounted event per fencer
- Limited member discount spots per tier (first come, first served)
- Multiple accounts will NOT unlock multiple discounts
- Member discount applies to individual events only (not team events)
- Your pricing tier is determined by when you submit payment (Step 3), not when you pre-register
- Your membership will be verified before payment processing
- Event registration is non-refundable per tournament policy
- One discount per member account for this event
How to Register
Step 1: Pre-Register on AskFred
Complete your pre-registration on AskFred.net. This reserves your spot in the event.
Important: Do NOT pay on AskFred if you want the member discount. Just complete the pre-registration form.

About AskFred: AskFred handles tournament brackets and bout tracking. Fencing.Community manages member verification and discounted payment processing. Fencing.Community is not affiliated with AskFred.Step 2: Become a Monthly Member
If you're not already a monthly member, sign up for a monthly recurring subscription to Fencing.Community.
Important: Your pricing tier is based on when you complete Step 3 (payment), not when you join as a member!
Step 3: Complete Payment on Fencing.Community
- Log in to your Fencing.Community account
- Click "Claim Perk" on the event card
- Select which event(s) you want to enter

Frequently Asked Questions
When is my discount tier determined?
Your discount tier is determined by when you submit payment (Step 3), not when you: - Pre-register on AskFred - Join as a monthly member - View the event page
For example: If you pre-register today (April 1) but don't pay until April 20, you'll get Regular Bird pricing (20% off), not Super Early Bird.
Can I compete in multiple events?
Yes! The member discount applies to your first event + registration fee ($50 regular price). You can register for additional events at the regular price of $25 each.
Why monthly only? Can't annual members get discounts too?
We're piloting member discounts exclusively for monthly subscribers who actively engage with the platform. This ensures we're providing value beyond just event discounts.
Monthly is $5/month = $60/year (same as our suggested annual price). The difference is flexibility: if you don't find value, cancel anytime.
If this pilot succeeds, we may expand eligibility in future events.
Can I sign up monthly, get the discount, then cancel?
You must be an active monthly member when you submit payment for the event. If you cancel before completing Step 3, you lose discount eligibility.
That said: Most members who try us for a month end up staying. Our content and tools are designed to help you improve your fencing—worth way more than a single event discount.
What if I can't attend after registering?
Event registration is non-refundable per tournament policy.
What if my name doesn't appear in the fencer dropdown?
Pre-registrations are manually synced from AskFred and may take up to 24 hours to appear. If you just registered on AskFred, please wait one business day.
If it's been more than 24 hours, contact us for assistance.
Which events qualify for the discount?
The discount applies to individual events only: - Senior Mixed Épée - Senior Women's Épée - Div 3 Mixed Épée - Y12 Mixed Épée - Y10 Mixed Épée
Team events do NOT qualify for member discounts.
Can I use multiple member accounts to get multiple discounts?
No. One discount per person. Multiple accounts will not unlock additional discounts, and attempting to game the system may result in loss of discount eligibility.
