Events Contested

The national-level fencing competition in Cleveland will feature events across multiple age groups and skill levels, providing opportunities for young fencers to compete against top athletes from around the country.

Events:

  • Cadet
  • Y-14
  • Y-12
  • Y-10

What the Events Mean:

Cadet: For fencers aged 17 and under (as of January 1 of the current fencing season). Cadet events highlight rising talents and future stars of the sport.

Y-14: For fencers aged 14 and under, this category serves as a competitive stepping stone for younger athletes preparing for higher-level competition.

Y-12: For fencers aged 12 and under, offering a structured competitive environment for developing skills and experience.

Y-10: For fencers aged 10 and under, focusing on fostering a love for the sport while providing a safe and structured competition format.

Each event offers a unique competitive experience, ensuring an exciting tournament for athletes and spectators alike.

Important Age Eligibility Update:

Please note that fencers born in 2008 are no longer eligible to compete in Cadet following the Junior Olympics in Charlotte, which serves as the national championship for the Cadet age category. The new birth year eligibility for Cadet events is 2009-2012.
