What the Events Mean
- Division 1A: A high-level competition open to fencers aged 13 and older. Division 1A events are a step below Division 1 and serve as a qualifying path to national championships.
- Division 2: Open to fencers rated C and below. This event gives developing athletes the chance to compete for regional and national qualification.
- Division 3: Open to fencers rated D and below. Designed for less experienced athletes seeking competitive growth.
- Veteran (Vet): For fencers aged 40 and older, with age categories typically broken into Vet-40, Vet-50, Vet-60, and Vet-70. A chance for experienced fencers to showcase their skill and passion for the sport.
- Junior: For fencers aged 19 and under (as of January 1 of the current fencing season). A critical division for high school and college-aged athletes aiming for higher-level competition.
- Cadet: For fencers aged 17 and under (as of January 1 of the current fencing season). Highlights emerging athletes who are building toward Junior and Division 1 competition.
